CCM Choir
Singing in the CCM Choir is a wonderful way to serve at Mass. You help to lead the congregation in singing hymns and responses as well as choir-only songs. You can use God-given skills in music to express your love of God through singing. Would you give a few hours a week to serve God through music?
The CCM Choir is open to everyone. All voice parts are welcome, and prior choral experience is helpful but not required. Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons at 4pm before Mass, and the choir sings at the Sunday evening Mass once a month.
In addition to singing the hymns and responses to assist the congregation at Mass, the CCM Choir also sings a selection alone during offertory. These music selections span the rich tradition of Catholic Church music across centuries, from Palestrina to living composers, and are carefully chosen to reflect each week’s liturgical readings.
We hope you will commit to the CCM Choir at the beginning of the semester, but you can join at any time. Please contact the CCM Choir Director at ccm_choir@richmondcathedral.org If you play an instrument and would like to play at the Sunday evening Mass with the choir, please contact the CCM Choir Director at the email given above.
