We a very excited to have Katie Zigadlo serving as the interim campus minister at VCU! She has served as the campus ministry intern at William & Mary for the last year and half and will do an amazing job working with us here at VCU. Please join us at Sunday Supper this week to meet her! You can expect to see her around on most Sundays, Thursdays, and Fridays for the remainder of the school year.
Here is a message from Katie:
Hello! I am Katie Zigadlo and I am from Loudoun County, Virginia. I graduated from Christopher Newport University in 2018 with a double major in English and Business Management. For the past year and a half, I have served as the Intern at William & Mary's Catholic Campus Ministry and have loved every minute of it! I have a twin sister who graduated from VCU in 2017, and I loved coming to visit her and spending a lot of time at VCU during college. I am looking forward to getting to Richmond better with all of you and I can't wait to meet in person!
Fr. Tony Marques, Rector of the Cathedral
I have been a priest for 14 years and am excited to be the new rector of the cathedral. My hope is that each student would experience the love of God signified by the title of the beautiful church next door: the Sacred Heart of Jesus. My previous assignments have been at Blessed Sacrament parish and James Madison University, Harrisonburg; St. Timothy’s, Tappahannock; Sacred Heart, Danville; and St. Benedict’s, Richmond. I like being outdoors (hiking especially), running, and reading (mostly history). I enjoy a strong cup of coffee and am a devoted Bruce Springsteen fan.
Working with Catholic Campus Ministry at VCU has been such a great joy over these last 3 years. I have loved watching you all grow in your relationship with the Lord and in friendship with one another. I am sad to announce today that I will be leaving CCM in March. My family and I will be moving to Fredericksburg, Virginia to be closer to family and I will be taking a position with Geico Insurance.
Thank you all for such a great experience at VCU. Please be assured of my prayers and let me know if I or my family can do anything to help you.
Sincerely in Christ,
